This post is a little bit late, but we had a fantastic rehearsal and training week for Dead End / Speak Up, our Year 11, 12, and 13 Road Safety Theatre in Education Programme. We had two teams of actors in, rehearsing the same show, so it was a lot of fun, especially when we previewed both performances back to back on the Friday. Each were excellent and it was fascinating exploring the subtle differences between the styles of each actor playing the same role! James Taylor delivered some fantastic workshop training so we had fun brushing up on our skills in the afternoon.
The tours are now on the road, reaching thousands of Year 11 – 13 students across the South East and Leicestershire. If you’d like to come and see it just get in touch. I saw both shows in schools last week and it always surprises me (being so familiar with the content) what an effect these powerful monologues have on the audience. There were a few tears as always!
Well done Ruth, Jay, Rik, Andy, Hayley and Kash. Brilliant work. Keep going – they’re long tours!! See you out on the road soon.
Here’s some pics from rehearsal!
